Legal entities, societies, associations, professionals, workers of the electrotechnical, electric and telecommunications sectors can become CEI members, by choosing the type of membership that best matches their level of economic commitment and professional interest
Each membership type is reserved to juridical/associative profiles and offer different levels of participation in standardisation and technical activities.
After having chosen the membership type, the membership request form will have to be filled out and if you have chosen “Basic Member” or “Adhering Member” you will be able to proceed to the payment.
If you want to become an Effective Member, the payment will be processed following your membership confirmation.
Being a CEI Member means participating in standardisation activities, with all the aforementioned advantages, meeting and exchanging technical knowledge with its different actors and also benefiting from several services and special discounts.
In particular, the Legal and Effective Promoting Members make up the technical bodies with their experts, i.e. the Technical Committees, the Subcommittees and the Central Commissions and contribute to defining the technical regulations at national, European and international level.
The CEI also offersvarious possibilities of association with different levels of commitment and interest to meet the needs of the various legal-professional profiles.
All CEI Members benefit from exclusive services and concessions such as special discounts for the purchase of CEI Standards, editorial products and application software, for subscriptions in various forms, for participation in CEI training courses, for receiving magazines. published by the CEI.
As Italian law states that products and systems must be built in a “workmanlike manner” and recognises CEI standards as a means to this objective, it can be said that working alongside the CEI allows for the participation and contribution to the development of the technical documents, as well as the expression of one’s own position.
It is important to be an Effective CEI Member to be able to participate and not simply be a spectator. Becoming a CEI member means:
– Contributing to the Italian position on relevant standards on the European and international stages
– Proposing new national standards regarding subjects exclusive to the CEI, and contributing to their drafting
– Proposing national guidelines in all sectors needing reorganisation and clarification through the CEI’s super partes position

Membership cancellations for the following year must be done by sending an email to the General Affairs Service – Member Management (soci@ceinorme.it), before the end of the current year. Unless this is done, the membership will get renewed automatically the following year.
Yes, if a cancellation email has not been sent to the General Affairs Service – Member Management (soci@ceinorme.it) before the end of the year. At the beginning of the new year, an invoice with the required payment will be sent.

If you have submitted an admission request as an “Basic Member” or as “Adhering Member” and all information and payments have gone through correctly, your membership will be approved within 24 hours.
If you have submitted a membership application as a “Effective Member”, you will receive a confirmation within 30 days.
