Flame spread / heat release evaluation
When a product that cannot be the fire victim is still identified as a potential source of fire and, after appropriate assessments, it is defined that it can generate a flame sufficient to propagate the fire, it becomes essential to evaluate all the surrounding elements as potentials victims of fire. The main aspects to be taken into consideration are: the position (they are reachable by the flame?), the mass / contribution (scale-up of the fire) and so on.
The conditions that may influence the way in which the propagation of the flame and the maintenance of combustion contribute to the development of the fire are assessed in diagram 1B1.
