To answer to this question and correctly proceed through the flowchart, the analysis of the scenario shall clearly show that our component or electrotechnical product cannot be the ignition point of the fire nor it can provide a significant contribution to the fire evolution (e.g. it consists only of materials inert to fire or it is placed in a position which certainly cannot be reached by the heat of combustion or by flames).
We must not underestimate the contribution of a component only because it is considered too small to be significant in the fire evolution. By definition a small component is not a small risk; in unfavourable conditions or due to synergistic effects, its contribution can be very significant.
